Day 26: Sun 5 Jun - Adelaide to Port Augusta 306 km, 7-18deg, rain

Woke to the sound of raindrops on the roof so we were really glad we packed away the awning etc last night.
We are a bit sad this morning to be leaving as we really enjoyed our stay in Adelaide and only scratched the surface of things to do and see. Good excuse to come back again.

Headed north on Highway 1 with very little traffic (it is Sunday after all), with wind and drizzle all the way. Decided to stop at Snowtown which is off the highway for mornos. Glad we did as it is an interesting little town complete with the "Big Blade". This is a display blade from a wind turbine presented to the town by the company that installed a wind farm (47 turbines) nearby. We couldn't see it (the farm) for the clouds and rain. There are also some lovely old buildings in the town.

Pulled into the Shoreline Caravan Park at Port Augusta at 12:35pm just as there was a break in the drizzle. We didn't set up too much as we're only staying one night.

We had a nice salad lunch and then took a walk to the city centre. There was a good range of shops, the normal suspects, and some interesting history from when this place was a real Port. Picked up a couple of things at Woolies and then walked home. 6.5km return.

It was a wet trip tp Port Augusta
