Day 49: Tues 28 Jun - Perth to Kalgoorlie-Boulder, 598km, 11-18deg, early morning shower then fine

Woke at 5am to the sound of rain but it didn't last long; it was gone by the time we got up.

A quick brekky, hitch up and we were on the road again, (7:45am) heading East this time. Only 4,497km to get home, not counting side trips. Stopped at Meckering for a cuppa and a bite to eat to find the beetroot jar had lost its lid in fridge; a red mess. It was cleaned up in no time and we were back on the road with our travel mugs. Huge wheat fields both sides of the road just about all day today. That's some area under cultivation. We know the rain came all this way inland as we experienced it crossing the Nullarbor on the way over.

Fuelled up and then had some lunch in the van at Southern Cross, an interesting place.

We pulled into the Discovery Van Park, K-Boulder at 4:15pm. Surprisingly it's quite full however not to the extent that we had to book ahead.

After a stretch of the legs walk we started our roast chicken and veggies dinner which hit the spot. An early night after a long drive.
