It was a real shock to the system when we got up this morning;
it was 6deg and made worse by the fact that we hadn't experienced any cool
weather back home. The reverse-cycle aircon in the van got a workout. After a
nice cooked breakfast we pulled out at 7:50am. The road was great most of the
way, fairly flat and straight, with the odd stretch of rocking and rolling.
There were lots of roos so went slow when we saw them. There must have been a
100 dead ones in the 190km trip. We didn't stop till St. George where we pulled
into the Kamarooka Tourist Park just in time for morning tea. It is a nice
small, compact park with immaculate facilities.
We got the bikes off and went off to explore St. George.
There are some nice old buildings, a path along the river, a couple of
monuments, but not a great deal else to see. So, after 10km it was back to our
mobile home for lunch followed by a nap. Wendy then set up the computer and did
some Army work while Greg went and refuelled the truck. Greg then went for a
walk around town and did some grocery shopping.
Whilst Wendy prepared dinner, Greg relaxed with the guitar
and a chat with a bloke from Geraldton WA. Dinner was a yummo home cooked meal
(salmon and pork chop with smashed orange veggies and steamed greens, washed
down with a glass of wine. Day 2
waz good yah!!
